Snowball's Anxiety

What we know about Snowball's anxiety:

Prior to Snowball's most recent adoption in 2013, he had been in several different homes and it was known that he has some anxiety, especially around other dogs. When adopted in 2013, he moved into a small city apartment.  Unfortunately the noise and chaos of city life was too much for him, and he preferred to stay inside and did not enjoy walking in the busy streets.  He loved trips out of the city, though, where he visited extended family who had a large yard in the country.  He was a much happier, calmer dog when he visited and loved hiking the trails.

Unfortunately, his anxiety heightened after the birth of a baby and his owner was unable to commit to the training and behavior modification.  The situation became unmanageable in the tight quarters of the city apartment when Snowball bit the young toddler when he was cornered and unable to escape.  It is due to this incident that the owner had to find a new home for him immediately.  Snowball is currently in a temporary home while a new forever family is found.

While Snowball does not prefer the company of other dogs, he has successfully adapted to a small group of dogs within his extended family.  The success of this interaction correlated very clearly to the environment and people involved- a large house and backyard, and calm adults that did not exhibit fear or anxiety.
